Distractions on this earth will often turn my view from the cross. But, more importantly, the donkey.
My mentor Cathy Payne preached an amazing word several years ago about, “The colt tied at the end of two ways.” I learned so much from that word. I think in the mirage of all that takes place in life, we often overlook this one small detail of Christ’s Triumphant entry into Jerusalem… the donkey.
This humble animal represents how God uses the insignificant to bring about the greatest victory’s. The word shows us how strategically this “servant” was; tied and waiting, and at the right time was used. And ultimately carried our victory and redemption into Jerusalem.
It’s sounds so cliche, but I want to be that kind of servant to my Savior. I want to be used for something victorious, to fulfill His great plan on earth! I feel Palm Sunday represents three lessons. The heart of a servant, the obedience of a follower and the victorious fulfillment of my Salvation!
What Christ did for me, you and the whole world on Palm Sunday was the life lesson of the ages! Today let us rejoice in the tradition of what this day means. But also, let us learn from the great teacher as He triumphantly enters into our hearts, so that we can serve and lead others!
Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Luke 19:38
