As the sun came up today, I had this thought, “How do I pray…?”

I am an intercessor and that has usually come in handy being married to a minister.š
My husband, now a denominational leader, overseeingĀ 65 churches, actually pastored for 24 years with me by his side and 3 years as a lay pastor prior to our marriage under a couple of amazing men of God.
I have always been passionate about prayer.Ā In fact as a child growing up in Hispanic churches I was more excited about praying at the altar before the service started than actually hearing my Pastor Grandmother preach. I am being light hearted, (smiling big over here) she was an amazing woman, and had a few opportunities to set me straight, outside of her pulpit.
Prayer and worship is key to getting Godās attention and hearing Him. This is how we really hear His voice and His heart.
For several years Clint and I have been partnering with two specific prayer movements in our nation as well as in our current role leading our Pastors to pray peace and revival for our treasured homeland. As believers, we must exercise 2 Chronicles 7:14, not just pray, but humble ourselves AND pray.
So how should we be praying? I will tell you this.Ā Today, on January 7, 2021, mid morning during my most busy office time, I changed a few things in the schedule, and carried myself to our upper room in our home, to pray.Ā I just needed to be with Him and know that His unchanging presence is still the same, yesterday, today and forever.Ā It was refreshing to abide with Him, the healer of our hearts, not just over the matter of our current political state in the United States, but to continue to receive His guidance and peace over the everyday things of life.Ā You know, friends and family who have been dealing with the virus, that has altered ALL of our lives.
So, how do we pray.Ā What now?Ā After a day of such high emotion and expectation. As a family/Pastoral counselor, I am sure, this morning many folks woke up feeling, well, pick an emotion. All the while glued to the news sources that basically repeat the same āBreaking Newsā repertoire over and over. This continues to put alarm, hate and division among and into us. Donāt get me started on that topic. If my San Juaquine Valley Cali Girl gets stirred up it wont be pretty. Hahaha. I am bi-cultural, and that makes me very passionate about all humanity.
Anyway, the most important, how do we prayā¦
I think for a split second, there were many folks that just assumed everyone supporting the Republican Party was focused on a man.Ā I am truly thankful for all that our President has been doing to pave the way for Evangelicals and the foundational beliefs of our nation.Ā We can not forget that.Ā But friends, even deeper than this, that is truly surface.Ā I am compelled today to pray for the unborn and our alignment as a people with Israel. Above everything else, covered underneath all of the drama, conspiracies, obstacle’s, silicon and career politicians are the real needs at hand.Ā All through Godās word we see very clearly that the enemy of our souls has always been trying to normalize murder of the innocent and destroy Godās own people.Ā If you were looking for anything more from this read. There is nothing more.Ā That is it.Ā We must keep praying friends, who ever our leadership is in the top office of this nation is, it is vital for us as a Christian Nation that we do not normalize the murder of the unborn or abandon the Biblical principle of peace with Israel.Ā I tremble as I type this.Ā Deep down, I have not really been supporting a particular person, I have truly been upholding Godās word, and praying for our Nation to not turn her face from God Jehovah, the one true and living God who sent His son to die for my sin, forgive me and give me a reason to live and love.Ā Because folks, if we donāt have His love, we donāt have peace.
Join me as I continue to intercede for our nation and her elected leaders. Every chair, every hall in our historical buildings, may they have the whispers of Your presence. Father, heal our land.
Amen, which in Hebrew means, So be it, let it be done.
Thank you! Just what I needed to hear this morning! I have been mourning for our nation…
Even though I know God is still and always will be in control. I will continue praying for Israel and those affected by abortion ā¤ļø
