You know what is so unique about making a cup of tea? To have a really good cup of your favorite flavor, you have to wait.
The process to enjoy it to its fullest; the tea bag must sit in the cup of hot steamy water, to steep.
That is why I like tea, it causes me to wait. Not typically one of my strong points lol. I have found in every season of my life, I have had to learn.. to wait. When Clint and I first got married we were anxious about where God would have us serve in ministry, we went to several interviews, but the light never turned green.. so we waited. While I was raising my tribe, I was praying one day(multitasking with a 2 and 3 year-old, no doubt) and the Lord said to me, “enjoy them while they are little, be patient.” Again, I learned about waiting. Rushing is over rated. You can’t savor the moments, breathe in the fresh air, listen for His voice. But waiting, wow. The rewards that come from not getting ahead of Father, but sitting with him.
Psalm 33:20 illustrates this so beautifully, “We wait in hope for the Lord; He is our help and our shield.”
If you like hot tea, try this sometime, however long it takes for your cup to be ready, exercise waiting patiently on Him, anticipating all of the good he is doing in your life. Stopping to breath, and enjoy your “tea”. In the still, the quiet and even all of the chaos around us; waiting is still just as rewarding. -Hope and Peace, Liz
